1. Tide Ad
The main character is a mother speaking about her daughter. The mother is a stereotypical girly girl wearing a pink jacket and a skirt with a headband. The entire room is "girly" with pastel-like colors except for her daughter. Her daughter is more of a tomboy with her hair messier, she's playing with dinosaurs and blocks (making a car garage) instead of barbies, and her mother can be heard saying she refuses to wear pink. You can hear her mother say her daughter plays with dirt and prefers to wear hoodies. The target audience of this ad is parents who have "messy" children, showing that tide can save any clothing from dirt; they are more likely to relate to this situation.
2. Axe Ad
The ad opens up with a lady in a bikini with full makeup on and her hair done running through a forest. With multiple long/medium shots, you're able to see most of the lady's body exposing the target audience for this ad being men. This is confirmed when more women appear and join together in running. As they're running towards the man, a close up of him with a smile on his face reveals that the man is amused, which would probably match the target audience's amusement as well. As more medium shots are used, it is revealed that the reason these women are running towards him is that he is spraying himself with axe body spray. With the tag line "spray more, get more" men who use this product are being convinced that women will be all over them if they use this product.

Psychological Thrillers
1. Psychological Thrillers use singular locations to create a feeling of claustrophobia in the viewer. They also use flashbacks to cause a sense of time disorientation in the viewer. Women are used as strong female characters.
2. Low level lighting are used to create shadows, which causes tension in the viewer. Quick edits cause the viewer to feel more panicked since more is going on. Multiple camera angles are used to disorient the viewer as well, adding onto the sense of panic. High tension music is used to cause more panic within the audience because they can tell when something might happen through the music. In older films, black and white filters were used to enhance the shadows created by the low level lighting.
3. Psychological thrillers are marketed on unstable and delusional psychological states within the characters. They use distorted mental perceptions to cause stress within the viewer and play on the paranoia of the viewer. They play on themes of death, existence, identity, mind, reality and the perception of it. Psychological thrillers commonly use strong female main characters, which appeals to their audience of women. The hero or anti-hero is usually someone the audience can relate to.
4. The film Psycho is a psychological thriller as it plays on the psychological state of Norman Bates. The movie is in black and white, and plays with shadows in order to build suspense and draw the viewer further in the movie. Quick edits are used in the shower scene, along with multiple angles to draw a sense of chaos. The majority of the horror scenes within the movie take place in small areas like the bathroom/shower scene and the scene at the end of the movie that reveals the antagonist of the film. The antagonist is always showed in shadows, to preserve it for a reveal towards the end of the movie.
5. The film Split is a psychological thriller as it is kept in one area for the majority of the film. This movie plays off of the distorted mental state of the main character who has MPD, or multiple personality disorder. He kidnaps 3 girls and hides them together in this area underneath of a zoo. While this film is in color, it uses a dark color palette to give a dreary look and keeps its images highly contrasted. The music is very bland, none of it stands out throughout the film except for towards the end. The music gets very loud and has a ringing tone to it, which is used to show the abnormality of what is occurring on the screen.
6. The Sixth Sense is a psychological thriller as it plays on the existence of the paranormal in the real world. The main character is a small child who comes from a single mother. At first, he is believed to have psychological issues, and originally plays on the idea that the child has an unstable mental state. The colors used in the movie are also not vibrant and uses a heavy contrast. Shadows are used in the presence of the paranormal to make it look more ominous. The music used throughout the movie is dramatic and scary, which fits with the scary themes used throughout the movie. The suspense throughout the movie plays on the paranoia of the audience.
